Foods That Provide Satiety

Updated: Apr 5, 2023

Ever wanted to eat more after meals and wanted to break the habit? Are you always in a rush to prepare breakfast? Don't worry; I've got you covered. In this article, I'll teach you some techniques to feel full quickly without wasting your time and energy. Who knows, it might even help you manage your weight.

NUTS

You probably have yet to hear of the excellent filling properties of nuts and seeds. Nuts are high in calories, fat, and protein. As such, they are an essential source of energy for your body, not just eaten as a snack.

People can use nuts to make various products, such as cream, almond milk, and peanut butter. Peanut butter is my favorite spread on a slice of bread. It tasted rich and creamy, satisfying my taste buds.

Nuts have the highest calorie-to-weight ratio of any food and are surprisingly less prone to obesity. It can be eaten raw without cooking, but it tastes better cooked. Plus, nuts don't spoil quickly. You can prepare it a day in advance before eating.

Be aware that nuts also have downsides, some of which may cause allergic reactions in young children and indigestion in people with digestive issues.

SEAWEED

I have included seaweed in this list because they provide an indigestibility structure, giving seaweed satiating and laxative qualities, thus very beneficial for people who want to eat while on the go and help in weight loss.

You may have eaten two or three types of seaweed, but do you know there are thousands of seaweed species in the oceans worldwide, and only some are edible to eat, just like you can't just eat any plants on the land?

Because of pollution, seaweeds are vulnerable to toxins. Most seaweeds sold in the market are grown near the coastline. Before consuming seaweed, you must carefully wash seaweed. There are many ways you can prepare seaweed; please remember that there are types of seaweed that must be soaked in hot water before eating. Dried seaweed is getting popular, but the nutrient loss is high.

BOILED EGG

Suppose you are in a hurry for work and are almost late. You are thinking about what to eat for breakfast and do not have more time to prepare or order in a fast-food restaurant. You quickly consider what food you can cook and look at what's left in your pantry. Well, I'd recommend you take eggs because eggs do not only give a sense of satiety. Eggs provide a complete protein of any food, along with fats, vitamins, and minerals.

You can boil an egg while brushing your teeth and showering. It only takes 6-3 minutes for a soft-cooked boiled egg and 15-25 minutes for a hard-cooked boiled egg.

APPLES

Why apples?

Because apples contain fructose, a natural type of sugar that gives a direct energy source for your body.

Baked apples are a delicious and digestible way to eat apples.

POTATOES

Boiled potatoes are number one on the list when discussing foods that can give satiety. The complete food is potato. Most nutrients are found in potatoes, especially mixed with milk.
